Thai Massage Workshops
Course I: Introduction To Thai Massage
This introductory course is open to anyone who is interested in learning what Thai Massage is all about. Through learning a simplified Thai Massage sequence, students can get a sense of the joy and benefits of giving and receiving Thai Massage without getting overwhelmed by too much information. This course has been specifically designed to make this bodywork accessible and practitioner friendly by putting emphasis on mindfulness and proper body mechanics.
Course Includes:
· A Brief History & Philosophical Overview of Thai Massage
· Yogic exercises to promote proper body mechanics
· Common Stretching, Manipulation and Pressure Point Techniques
· A Complete 90 Minute Thai Massage Sequence
· A Sequence Manual with photos and descriptions
· 12 hours of classroom lecture, demonstration, and practice
Cost is $185 per student.

Course II: Intermediate Level 1 Thai Massage
This course builds on the principals and sequence introduced in the Introduction to Thai Massage workshop. It is intended primarily for bodyworkers who wish to further their knowledge of classical Thai Massage and integrate this ancient healing system into their practice. In this workshop we take a closer look at the elements of traditional Thai Massage and learn how to creatively integrate and tailor them to meet the specific needs of each client. (Prerequisites: Introduction to Thai Massage or equivalent experience)
Course Includes:
· Intermediate Stretching, Manipulation, and Pressure Point Techniques
· A Brief Overview of the Sen Channels
· Variations of techniques to meet the needs of practitioner and client
· An Intermediate Sequence Manual with photos and descriptions
15 hours of classroom lecture, demonstration, and practice

Teachers

Vika Teicher is a certified massage therapist and yoga instructor. Her training includes Thai Massage in northern Thailand and with reknown western teachers Ananda Apfelbaum and Jonas Westring, Holistic Massage Therapy at the World School of Massage, Orthopedic Massage at the Omeri Institute, and Breema Bodywork. She is a certified Interdisciplinary Yoga instructor from the Omega and Nosara Institute and has completed an Anusara Yoga immersion at Yoga Sangha in San Francisco. With over seven years of massage and yoga experience, she integrates her knowledge of Eastern and Western bodywork techniques to create a well-balanced, rejuvenating, and deeply relaxing yoga massage experience. Vika is a founder and co-director of the Thai Massage training program at the Jivaka Healing Center and has been teaching Thai Massage and Partner Yoga workshops since 2002. She has taught at Jivaka Center, Temescal Arts Center, Mountain Yoga, Frogwood Retreat Center, Double Bear and Sierra Hot Springs. She has also assisted her esteemed teachers Ananda Apfelbaum and Jonas Westring at the Omega Institute and Mount Madonna Center. She is currently available to teach Introductory and Intermediate Thai Massage workshops.

Leigh Evans is a yoga teacher and dancer dedicated to awakening creativity and aliveness in the body. Since 1985, Leigh has practiced Hatha Yoga in the Iyengar, Ashtanga, and viniyoga traditions in the US and India, and has been teaching yoga for 10 years.
